M+A Studio was established in 2020 by founders Shanay Moghbel and Elmira Alamdari to provide design services for clients looking for thoughtful and inspiring designs to create delightful living spaces. Our approach is rooted in collaboration, working closely with clients to understand their vision, needs, and goals, and providing expert guidance to turn their ideas into beautiful, functional spaces. We design living spaces to be experienced and enjoyed.
From initial collaboration to concept development, we refine ideas into designs that truly reflect our clients' aspirations. Whether it’s a simple remodeling, addition, new construction or interior design, our services are tailored to meet each client’s unique needs.

Elmira Alamdari
Co-founder and Partner
After Elmira received her Engineering of Architecture degree, she pursued her Masters from Anhalt University of Applied Science (Bauhaus) in Dessau, Germany. After being awarded her Masters, Elmira worked on urban development and interior design projects in Leipzig, Germany. Elmira moved to the Bay Area in 2016 and worked extensively in healthcare, including projects for Stanford Healthcare and UCSF.
Elmira expanded her experience by working on workspace projects, including with Apple and Google. In 2020, Elmira made the decision to establish M+A Studio with her co-founder to pursue residential design and services, allowing her more creative freedom to help clients bring their imagined living spaces into reality.

Shanay Moghbel
Co-founder and Partner
Shanay received her Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the University of Science and Technology in Iran. Following work in the field of architectural and urban design for a number of years, she decided to pursue her studies in San Francisco and received her Masters of Architecture from Academy of Art University in 2011.
After collaborating in architectural and interior design projects for commercial and residential spaces as well as arts, she decided to follow her passion and focus more on architectural design in the residential field. This led to the establishment of M+A Studio alongside her co-founder, with whom she shares a passion for creating beautiful, modern and functional spaces tailored to client’s requirements.
